ABS on all; driver’s airbag from 1993, passenger airbag from 1995;
Alarm and immobiliser on top models.
Two types of turbo engine: the light-pressure turbo, badged LPT, ‘t’ or Eco-Power, and the full-pressure Turbo. There are also 2.0i engines, and 3.0 V6 units. The most powerful engines are the 2.3 Aero Turbo, and the 2.3t at 225 bhp.

Saab 9000 CD 2.0i/2.0t Executive (Jan 94) = five-spoke alloy wheels, metallic paint, and electric glass sunroof;
Saab 9000 CSE 2.0 Ecopower/2.3 Ecopower Anniversary = 200 bhp, uprated to 225 bhp in October 97, eight-spoke alloy wheels, ‘Aero’ body styling, climate control, leather upholstery, walnut trim; leather , and rear spoiler added in October 97.
Saab 9000 E (CSE, CDE) = leather upholstery, cruise control, air conditioning and executive extras.
